What age is CoasterLab for?
It suits roughly ages 5 to 12. Younger kids place track and press ride; older kids chase speed records, airtime and closed-circuit layouts. There is no reading-heavy tutorial — the first coaster is already on the ground when you arrive.
Is it free to play?
Yes. Visitors get a free session with no account at all, and a free account adds free play time every day. The $1 per month CoasterLab Membership removes the daily limit. Nothing else is locked behind money.
Are there ads?
No. There are no ads, no ad networks and no advertising trackers anywhere in CoasterLab.
Can my child talk to strangers?
No. There is no chat, no comments, no usernames shown to other players and no way for anyone to contact your child inside the game.
Does my child need an account?
Not to play. An account only exists so coasters and progress follow your child to another device. Accounts are created by a grown-up with an email address.
What devices does it work on?
Any reasonably recent phone, tablet, Chromebook or computer with a modern browser. There is nothing to download or install, and it works on school-issued Chromebooks.
How does the unlock system work?
New track pieces unlock by total distance ridden, not by spending. Loops arrive within the first ride or two; launches, zero-G rolls and the hanging coaster come later. The full ladder is on the unlocks page.
What are Park Hours?
Park Hours is our name for the free daily play time. There is no visible countdown clock stressing kids out, and a ride in progress always gets to finish.
How do I cancel the membership?
From the customer portal link in your receipt email, any time. Access runs to the end of the period you already paid for, and nothing your child built is ever deleted.
Who makes CoasterLab?
A tiny independent team in the United States. It was built with a kid, not in a boardroom, which is why it opens straight into the game instead of a marketing page.
